"And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers." 1 Thessalonians 2:13
As Christian men, we are called to “walk in a manner worthy” of our calling, living by faith in Jesus Christ and his gospel, “the power of God for salvation” (Ephesians 4:1; Romans 1:16). In doing so, we are held by the faithfulness of God through the power of his grace, “training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:12-13). God by the power of the Holy Spirit, provides the training we need through the whole church, and these are the same means by which men in the church are strengthened in faith. These means include weekly worship and partaking of communion, receiving the preached word, meditating on his word, individual and corporate prayer, and fellowship.
Fellowship
It is through the blessing of gathering together as men that we seek to apply the gospel truths which train us to glorify God through living for him. We do this through meaningful fellowship and monthly gatherings to foster relationships centered around the finished work of Christ. Our goal is that each of us will develop a desire to be engaged in discipleship, prayer, and life with one another throughout the weeks in between our monthly gatherings.
Men's Retreat
In addition to the fellowship in our gatherings, we learn about specific topics with resources provided by the church leading up to our annual Men’s Retreat. There we will have a focused time learning and growing in faith through the preaching of his word and enjoying time with each other in a recreational setting.
As God’s grace empowers and trains us, our desire is that we will be fathers, sons, friends, and brothers – men who seek to glorify God by living lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
